Vasile Petru Tarlev
Born on October 9, 1963, in Bascalia,
Basarabeasca, where he grew up and went to the primary school.
Having left the secondary school in his native village in 1980, he
worked as driver on a state farm “Pobeda”.
From 1981 to 1983 he served in the army.
From 1985 to 1990 he went to the Polytechnical Institute “S. Lazo” in Chisinau, Department of Technology.
Following graduation, he starts his career as senior mechanic at the
manufacturing association Bucuria.
In 1991 he takes the position of assistant to the senior engineer and,
later senior engineer at the Bucuria SA (Inc.).
In 1993 (September-October) he attended the USA-based courses on the
“Development of Industry, Commerce and Planning of the sales market
under a market economy”.
In 1993 he is named Deputy Director General, and in 1995 – Director
General of the Bucuria SA, position hold until 2001.
In 1995 he is elected Chairperson of the National Association of
Incorporated Societies of Moldova (ANSAM).
For his exceptional professional and civil merits he has received the
Order Labour Glory.
In 1998 is elected as Chairperson of the National Association of
Manufacturers of Moldova (ANPM) – position held to present.
Member of the Economic Boards with the President and Prime Minister of
the Republic of Moldova(1997-2000).
Since 1998 is Member (Academician) of the International Academy of
Sciences and Computer Systems.
In 1998 he completed his Doctor Dissertation on Technical Sciences in
Kyiv (Ukraine), published 83 scientific researches, holder of 13 patents
of invention, one Medal of Honour, 4 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals and
one Bronze Medal, 7 Diplomas. The results of his researches have been
presented at conferences in Cracow, Pilesti, Livov and Kyiv.
Practical developments carried out on the basis of his scientific
researches have been presented at a several exhibits in the USA,
Switzerland, Belgium, Morocco, Moldova, and received a high
appreciation.
Has been awarded the Diploma of the Businessman of the Year throughout
1995 – 2000.
Holder of the award of the “Man who Determines the Image of the Planet”
and of a personal gold badge.
On the 3 July 2000 he was decorated with the gold Medal For Efficient
Management.
On 19 April 2001, upon the vote of confidence of the Parliament, he was
elected Prime Minister.
On 6 March 2005 is elected Member of the Parliament of the Republic of
Moldova.
Upon the vote of confidence of the Parliament of 19 April 2005, he is
elected for a second term as Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova.
Married, father of two children. |
